Yuma Privacy Policy

How we handle information

Effective date: April 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Yuma (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Yuma iPhone application and related on-device features (the “App”). It is designed to align with common expectations in the United States (including California), Canada, Singapore, Australia, and other regions where users may access the App.

1. Scope & data controller

This Policy applies to the Yuma App. The data controller is the operator of Yuma identified in Section 18. If you use other websites or services linked from the App, their privacy policies govern those services.

2. Summary

Yuma is built around on-device photo creativity: importing images you choose, transforming them inside the App, and storing certain outputs locally. We do not require you to create a Yuma account to use core features. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. If you grant permission, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework controls whether certain cross-app tracking identifiers may be accessed for advertising or analytics purposes as defined by Apple.

3. Categories of information we may collect

Depending on how you use Yuma and your device settings, we may process:

Category Examples
Photo & media content Images you import via the system photo picker or save from Yuma workflows; derived previews or project data stored on your device.
App & device data App version, language, coarse diagnostics (for example crash-like events if you opt in through system mechanisms), and technical logs needed to operate or secure the App.
Purchase-related data Transaction identifiers and product identifiers provided through Apple’s StoreKit; we do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
Identifiers & usage Device identifiers or usage data where permitted by your settings, including App Tracking Transparency status and limited advertising-related data if you allow tracking.
Support communications Email address and message content if you contact us.

Optional device permissions (such as camera, microphone, or photo library) are requested only when a feature needs them. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Yuma’s creative tools and virtual currency features;
  • Process in-app purchases and restore entitlements where supported;
  • Protect security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
  • Respond to your requests and provide user support;
  • Measure aggregated or de-identified usage where permitted, and deliver or measure advertising only in line with your tracking choices and applicable law.

6. How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Apple Inc. — for App distribution, in-app purchases, and platform services governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple ID settings;
  • Service providers — vendors who assist us with hosting, analytics, or support, bound by confidentiality and processing agreements where required;
  • Authorities — when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information for money as that term is commonly understood under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent marketing without appropriate consent where required.

7. Retention

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. On-device content remains under your control until you delete it or uninstall the App, subject to iOS backup behavior.

8. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you use Yuma at your own risk to that extent permitted by law.

9. International transfers

We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or UK authorities) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us using Section 18. We may verify your request as permitted by law.

11. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may have the rights to know, delete, and correct personal information; to opt out of certain “sharing” or “selling” as defined under California law; and not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.

Sensitive personal information: We limit use of sensitive personal information (if any) to purposes permitted by the CPRA. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics in a manner that would require a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” link under current CPRA regulations, but you may still contact us with questions.

You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.

12. Canada (PIPEDA and provincial laws)

If you are in Canada, we collect, use, and disclose personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws (for example in Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec). You may request access to or correction of your personal information and may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial commissioner.

13. Singapore (PDPA)

If you are in Singapore, we handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). You may withdraw consent for optional processing where consent is the legal basis, subject to contractual and legal limitations. You may contact us to access or correct your personal data or to learn how we have used or disclosed it over the past year, as required by the PDPA.

14. Australia (Privacy Act & APPs)

If you are in Australia, we handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You may access or seek correction of personal information we hold about you. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

15. Children

Yuma is not directed to children under the age required by Apple or applicable law to consent to data processing in their region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner prohibited by law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

16. Third-party services & links

The App may display links to external sites (for example legal documents hosted online). Those services have their own privacy practices; this Policy does not apply there.

17. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the App or by email. Please review the Policy periodically.
